Experience the thrill of learning about an ancient tradition.
Captain Gaetano, a fisherman for over 40 years, will be on hand to share with you the secrets of sustainable fishing using nets and traps and to tell you stories from real seafaring veterans!
We will depart each morning from the port of Marina di Campo (in the southern part of Elba Island), subject to favorable weather conditions, to retrieve the nets set in the sea the previous evening!
We will haul in the nets together, experience the work of a real fishing boat, and then stop at a peaceful cove to enjoy some time to relax.
Gaetano will swap his fisherman’s clothes for a chef’s apron.
We don’t have a chef on board; we only have the freshest, zero-mile ingredients, which are cooked on the spot in a very simple way.
While the catch of the day is being prepared on board, you can enjoy a nice aperitif, take a refreshing dip, or perhaps lend a hand in preparing lunch.
After enjoying lunch, you can relax a little longer in the crystal-clear waters of Elba Island before we cast the nets again and return to port in the afternoon.
There are no pre-determined routes. The coves are chosen based on the fishing grounds.
You don’t have to be an expert: all you need is the desire to explore, have fun, and experience the sea in a different way.
If you like to try your hand at something new, you can help with cleaning the fish, or you can simply lean back and enjoy the day.
If you prefer a more atmospheric experience, you can board in the late afternoon for a special outing featuring an aperitif and dinner at sunset, as the sun plunges into the sea.
