Explore the hidden beauty of Skadar Lake aboard a traditional wooden boat, away from the crowds and large tourist vessels. Our tours are operated in small groups and led by an English-speaking local guide, giving you a relaxed and personal experience on the lake.
We leave Virpazar and spend the first 10–15 minutes cruising through a narrow canal lined with water lilies, reeds, and rich vegetation. As you emerge from the canal, the stunning panorama of Skadar Lake stretches out before you, creating an unforgettable first impression.
From there, we continue towards the Morača River, passing the historic Lesendro Fortress. This part of the lake is famous for its floating carpets of water lilies and peaceful waterways that can only be reached by smaller traditional boats, allowing you to experience some of the lake's most untouched landscapes.
The route then continues towards Čakovica and Andrijska Gora, where you'll cruise through quiet channels and pass small islands surrounded by unspoiled nature. This area is home to many of Skadar Lake's bird species, including pygmy cormorants, grey herons, little egrets, purple herons, and kingfishers. If you're lucky, you might even spot the rare Dalmatian pelican, the symbol of Skadar Lake.
We'll make a stop for a refreshing swim before enjoying a relaxing cruise back to Virpazar.
Throughout the tour, refreshments are served on board, allowing you to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings even more.
If you're looking for an authentic Skadar Lake experience with beautiful landscapes, abundant wildlife, and places that larger boats simply can't reach, this tour is the perfect choice.
