What you can expect
El Impenetrable is Argentina's last great wilderness - 128,000 hectares of quebracho forests, wetlands, and ancient riverbeds where jaguars still roam, giant anteaters wander at dusk, and the Bermejo River flows undisturbed to the horizon.
This 5-day expedition takes you off the grid and into the heart of the Gran Chaco aboard Glamping Los Palmares: a luxury eco-camp of African-style tents perched on the riverbank. No mobile signal. No TV. Only solar power - and the kind of silence that is increasingly hard to find.
Over three nights, your days fill naturally: guided treks through the chaqueño forest at first light, kayaking through wild river bends with lunch on a sandbar, horseback riding with Pirincho - a local gaucho who has spent his entire life navigating these lands on horseback.
On day four, you board a motorboat and navigate 70 kilometers downriver - one of the most biodiverse wildlife corridors in South America. Caimans lounge on the mudbanks. Jabiru storks circle overhead. Tapirs and peccaries emerge at the water's edge. You share lunch on a sandbar with nothing around you but water, sky, and birdsong.
Your final night is at Glamping El Bermejito, at the gateway to Parque Nacional El Impenetrable. Your return to Resistencia marks the end of an expedition that stays with you long after the dust of the 4x4 road has settled.
Every stay directly funds land restoration and wildlife conservation managed by Fundacion Rewilding Argentina.
