I'm Gaël Orieux, founder of Dreamchasers Diving. I'll personally welcome you and guide you through your first diving experience.
More than just a dive
I created Dreamchasers to share my passion for diving in a more personal way. For me, it's not simply about taking people underwater. It's about the connection between the guest and the instructor, building confidence and sharing the excitement of discovering something new.
I believe in quality over numbers. That's why I organise smaller sessions instead of bringing everyone together just to fill a boat. When several bookings fall on the same day, I try to arrange separate sessions whenever possible. This gives you more time and personal attention rather than making you feel like part of a large group.
I want to understand how you feel, take the time to interact with you and make the experience enjoyable without rushing.
Learn to dive, not just follow
I don't want your first dive to be just a ride underwater while someone else does everything for you.
I'll introduce you to your equipment, show you how to control your breathing and teach you basic underwater communication. We'll practise in shallow water and build your confidence before exploring.
Throughout the dive, I'll guide, support and supervise you while helping you discover how to move and explore using your own abilities. My aim is for you to feel involved and experience the freedom of diving for yourself.
The right dive site for you
Northern Mauritius offers several beautiful dive sites. I'll select the location according to your comfort, confidence and sea conditions.
Depths range from approximately 3 to 12 metres, depending on the site. There's no obligation to reach 12 metres. I'd rather share a beautiful experience at a depth where you feel comfortable than push you beyond your limits.
Your first underwater adventure
We'll start with an introduction to scuba diving and your equipment, followed by practice in shallow water. Then we'll head out by boat to explore Mauritius's underwater world.
Your exploration dive generally lasts 30–45 minutes, depending on your comfort, breathing and conditions.
Included: Personal guidance by Gaël Orieux, diving equipment and boat transfers.
No previous diving experience is required. Participants must meet applicable health and safety requirements and follow the instructor's instructions.
Diving is subject to suitable weather and sea conditions. If conditions are unsuitable for a safe experience, rescheduling may be necessary.
