9:10 AM – Meet at KingfisherGPS
Your experience begins at our KingfisherGPS office, located in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. There you will receive a brief introduction to the tour and the snorkeling gear (mask and snorkel), which you will use later at Playa Puerto Chino.
9:30 AM – Departure to the highlands of San Cristobal
We begin the tour by ground transportation to the upper part of the island while you enjoy the change of scenery from the coastal area to the highlands.
10:00 AM – El Junco Lagoon (Visit not guided)
The first stop will be at El Junco Lagoon, the only permanent freshwater lake in the Galapagos, located inside the crater of a dormant volcano. Here you will have free time to explore the trail, walk to the vantage point, and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. There is no tour guide on this visit.
11:00 AM – La Galapaguera del Cerro Colorado (Guided visit)
We will continue to La Galapaguera del Cerro Colorado, where you will take a guided visit. You'll learn about the conservation program for the San Cristóbal giant tortoise (Chelonoidis chathamensis), its life cycle, and the actions being taken to protect this species. During the tour, you'll be able to observe giant tortoises in their natural environment.
12:00 PM – Puerto Chino Beach (Visit not guided)
Your next stop will be Playa Puerto Chino. You'll have free time to relax on the beach, walk along the shore, or snorkel with the gear provided at the start of the sightseeing tour. Depending on the sea conditions and the wildlife present that day, you'll be able to see sea lions, sea turtles, rays, tropical fish, and blue-footed boobies. This activity is not guided.
1:00 PM – Drop-off at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
At the end of the visit to Playa Puerto Chino, we will return by ground transportation to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Arrival is scheduled for approximately 1:30 PM.
Afternoon schedule
You can also choose the afternoon departure. This tour starts at 2:00 PM and ends at approximately 6:00 PM, following the same itinerary. The visit to La Galapaguera del Cerro Colorado is guided, while Laguna El Junco and Playa Puerto Chino are self-guided
