At 8.30, meet your guide at Ota Darvoza, the main gate of Ichan Qala fortress. You will then drive to Ellikqala district (100 km) to visit archaeological sites Toprak Qala, Qizil Qala, Ayaz Qala, and Jonbos Qala.
Already 2000 years ago, people of fertile Amu-Darya delta built many fortresses to defend themselves against the invasions of nomadic tribes who lived with their herds in the Kyzyl-Kum desert. Most of the fortresses are located at the edge of the Sultan Uiz Dag mountain range.
During this day trip, you will learn fascinating stories and facts about these ancient fortresses of Khorezm. The trip ends in the afternoon with the transfer back to Khiva. In-between the visits, you will have a lunch break.
