The painting represents the reactions of the apostles at that moment during the Last Supper when Jesus foretold that he would be betrayed by one of them. Discover how Leonardo invented his own painting technique that allowed him to work slowly, and to perfect every detail. Da Vinci unfortunately used a new technique that resulted in the mural being extremely fragile and as a result its deterioration quickly ensued. Because of the poor condition and delicate nature of the mural, visiting conditions are quite restrictive. Access to the air-conditioned exhibition room containing the mural is limited to small groups and then only for a maximum of 15 minutes.
