What you can expect
Discover the Sacred Valley of the Incas on an unforgettable full-day tour from Cusco, designed to immerse you in the history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Andes.
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup in Cusco, followed by a scenic drive through the highlands toward Chinchero. This traditional Andean village is known for its vibrant artisan market and deep-rooted textile traditions. Visit a local weaving center to learn about ancestral Inca techniques, natural dyes, and the symbolic meanings woven into each design. You will also explore the archaeological remains and colonial church that reflect the fusion of Inca and Spanish heritage.
Continue to Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the region. Its impressive circular terraces, carved deep into the earth, are believed to have served as an agricultural laboratory where the Incas experimented with different microclimates to optimize crop production.
Next, head to the Maras Salt Mines, a spectacular patchwork of thousands of salt pools cascading down the mountainside. Fed by a natural underground spring, these salt pans have been harvested since pre-Inca times and are still managed by local families using traditional methods.
The tour then descends into the heart of the Sacred Valley to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a delicious Andean lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. Surrounded by towering peaks and fertile farmland, this peaceful setting offers the perfect break to relax and recharge.
In the afternoon, explore Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved living Inca towns. Walk through its original stone streets and climb the massive terraces of the fortress, once a strategic military, religious, and agricultural center. Learn about its crucial role during the resistance against the Spanish conquest.
Finally, visit Pisaq, renowned for its extensive agricultural terraces and impressive hilltop ruins overlooking the valley. After exploring the archaeological site, browse the colorful artisan market before returning to Cusco in the evening, concluding a day filled with culture, history, and unforgettable scenery.
