What you can expect

Day 1 Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa

First, we will start with the pick up from the hotel in Cusco at 5:00 am and transfer it in tourist mobility to the village of Mollepata where we will have breakfast and present our entire team who will accompany us throughout the trek, then we will move to Marqoq'asa where we will The walk will begin to the viewpoint where we can see 02 valleys (Mollepata valley, Marqoq'asa) then we will continue the walk to Soraypampa where we will have lunch and then ascend for 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the Humantay lagoon located 4220 meters above sea level, then we will descend to Soraypampa.

Day 2 Suyroccocha Camp to Challway (Chaullay)

The second day you will have more trails than walking. The views at the top are even more amazing than what we can see. Then it's a straight downhill path with packed stones, descending into a more accessible area of rainforest at the tip of the Salkantay mountain.

We prepare all our equipment to start this beautiful day of hiking to the Salcantay pass and the experience in the cloud forest and the day of the subtropical jungle.

Day 3 Challway to La Playa camp

Today it is a green natural trail reaching to La Playa; with some rivers that are tributaries of the main river of the Sacred Valley of the Incas “Río Urubamba” and most of the time we will be near the white river of Salcantay finding in our walk a large number of wild strawberries “both sides of the trail, of course, if it's the season.” The walk will last approximately 5 hours; the camp is in the settlement of La Playa.

Day 4 Llactapata Pass – to the town of Aguas Calientes

We leave La Playa early in the morning to avoid the humid blows of the sun, and to do some trekking towards the last step of the whole trip. Today we follow the original Inca trail from Lucmabamba to the Llactapata Pass, crossing the Santa Teresa Valley with a wider variety of landscapes. Arriving at the Patallacta ruins, we have our first glimpse of Machu Picchu and all the Andes mountains in the area which are incredible sights. We also explore the Llactapata Inca site.

Then we descend to Hidro (two hours of extreme descent to the river bank). From the Aobamba River, the road to Hydro is an easy walk to the village of Aguas Calientes “the last two and a half hours we followed the train track”.

Day 5 Machu Picchu Citadel

Breakfast and early transfer to go by tourist bus to Machu Picchu, the trip lasts about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour, then at the appropriate time, you will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train that will take you back to the village of Ollantaytambo and then we will take the mobility to Cusco City.
