Enjoy a gentle and relaxing alpine walk in the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo Natural Park, perfect for beginners, families and slow travellers. Walk through quiet forests and meadows, reach the traditional Malga Ra Stua Hut, and taste local food in a peaceful mountain setting.
The experience starts at the Podestagno bus stop, easily reachable by public transport (line 445 by SudtirolMobil) or by car, with paid parking available at San Uberto. A short forest road leads to the entrance of the protected area, where the trail begins.
The ascent to Malga Ra Stua is gradual and comfortable, following a scenic path through larch and spruce forests. After reaching the hut, you can relax on the terrace or join an optional easy loop on the plateau above the malga, crossing open pastures, wetlands and quiet woodland clearings. This is a great opportunity to learn about the local flora, fauna, geology and cultural history, away from the busiest trails.
After the loop, the group meets again at Malga Ra Stua for a traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients. Please note that lunch at the hut is not included in the experience fee. The return to San Uberto follows the same easy forest road.
Located between the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo and Fanes‑Senes‑Braies Natural Parks, this experience is the perfect gentle introduction to the Dolomites — ideal for visitors staying in Cortina or even in Dobbiaco, thanks to the convenient bus connection.
