What you can expect
Take a journey back into the colonial days of British North Borneo on board the North Borneo Railway. Immerse yourself in refurbished colonial designs alongside charming hosts dressed in colonial attire as you pass through small towns, plantations, jungles, and beaches in this relaxing tour.
Begin your day with hotel pickup to one of the oldest railway stations in Borneo, Tanjung Aru Station, dating back to the 1900's. Depart from the station and make your way to Kinarut town inside the British Vulcan steam locomotive, making stops at Tien Shi Temple and traditional shops. Along the way, you're served a delicious continental breakfast by friendly staff in colonial attire.
Continue your scenic ride from Kinarut to Papar as you pass by local plantations, jungles, and beaches for a visit to the local wet markets and traditional shops. Check out the local produce of farmers from neighboring towns and see traditional handicraft sold at big discounts. Enjoy a local tiffin lunch as you make your way back to your hotel.
