What you can expect

Day 1-2: The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, where your Kilimanjaro trek commences. Lush rainforests teeming with exotic birdlife will greet you on the lower slopes. Breathe in the fresh air and keep an eye out for colobus monkeys swinging through the trees as you ascend to Shira Camp 1.

Day 3-4: As you conquer higher elevations on the Shira Plateau, the landscape transforms dramatically. Volcanic rock formations and otherworldly vegetation will leave you breathless. You might even spot elusive black and white colobus monkeys or be surprised by a giant groundsel, a unique plant resembling a giant daisy. Acclimatization hikes will be strategically incorporated to prepare your body for the summit push.

Day 5: Leaving the Shira Plateau behind, you'll enter Moir Valley, a stunning landscape dotted with giant heather and volcanic rock formations. Keep your camera ready for panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Today's trek leads you to Buffalo Camp, offering a dramatic shift in scenery. Sparse vegetation and semi-desert landscapes dominate this area, a stark contrast to the earlier rainforests. Look out for signs of wildlife like klipspringers, small antelopes that expertly navigate the rocky terrain.

Day 7: The journey continues towards School Hut, where the iconic Kibo Peak, the highest point in Africa, comes into full view. Prepare to be mesmerized by the glaciers clinging to its slopes.

Day 8: Summit day arrives! An early morning pre-dawn push takes you through challenging terrain, but the reward is unparalleled. As you reach Gilman's Point, the first rays of sunlight will paint the African sky in vibrant hues. Witness the magnificent glaciers cascading down the Kibo crater rim and, on a clear day, spot the Kenyan border in the distance. After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9: The final leg of your trek takes you down the Mweka Route, offering a different perspective of the mountain. Lush forests reappear, and you'll have ample time to reflect on your incredible accomplishment. Reaching Mweka Gate signifies the official end of your Kilimanjaro adventure, and you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi, forever marked by your conquest of the “Roof of Africa.
