What you can expect
Step into Behringer-Crawford Museum, nestled in Covington's Devou Park, and journey through the rich cultural arts of Northern Kentucky. Housed in the historic Devou family home, the museum invites you to explore engaging exhibits that bring the region's stories to life.
Begin your visit on Level 1, where you’ll encounter the Rails Gallery, featuring a rare 1924 Stewart Iron Works truck and the last streetcar to run in Northern Kentucky. Listen to personal stories from past passengers and admire the intricate Ray Faragher Garden Railway model. Don’t miss the museum’s iconic two-headed calf, a local legend.
On Level 2, immerse yourself in postwar Americana. Settle into a vintage Buick Electra convertible, watch a classic drive-in movie, and tap along to tunes on a retro jukebox. Follow the road to discover an authentic Studebaker English horse gig from the early 1900s.
Venture to Level 3 to uncover the region’s ancient past in the Prehistory Gallery, where Ordovician sea fossils and Ice Age mammal remains await. Continue to the Rivers Gallery and learn how the Ohio and Licking Rivers shaped local history, commerce, and culture. Kids can play on the Wake Robin riverboat and try their hand at catching native fish.
Enjoy rotating special exhibits, marvel at stained glass windows by Wolfgang A. Ritschel, and cross a replica of the Roebling Bridge to discover the area’s architectural and aviation milestones. Outside, NaturePlay@BCM offers a hands-on, accessible play space with log cabins, a flatboat, and native gardens.
Your visit concludes at your own pace, with time to enjoy the museum store or relax on the patio overlooking Devou Park.
