Begin your morning with an exploration of downtown Rio’s Beaux Arts architecture and its bustling neighborhoods. Cruise by the Sambadrome, where Brazil’s world-famous dancing clubs perform during the city’s wild Carnival celebration. Mae a 10 minute stop at the at the pyramidal Metropolitan Cathedral and its gourgeus floor to ceiling stained glasses; then on to Sugar Loaf.
Wind your way through the hip beachfront neighborhood of Urca to Sugar Loaf Mountain. This massive granite monolith towers 1,299 feet (396 m) above the harbor. Board its famed teleférico (cable car) and ride up to the peak for sweeping, panoramic vistas over Guanabara Bay, Copacabana, and the city below.
Next, make your way back to the base of Sugar Loaf mountain and on to enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional Brazilian barbecue (with plenty of vegetarian options). After the Delicious lunch make your way to Maracanã Stadium. One of the most famous stadiums in the world which has already hosted two world cup finals.
