Overview

  • The 4-Day Choquequirao Trek takes you to the remarkable “Lost City of the Incas.” Its name, derived from Quechua, means “Cradle of Gold.” Choquequirao was one of the most important Inca settlements after Cusco and served as a refuge for the Incas during the Spanish invasion of 1536.

Situated in the Vilcabamba mountain range at an elevation of approximately 3,400 meters (11,155 feet) above sea level, this archaeological wonder lies near the edge of the tropical cloud forest. With its rich history, impressive architecture, and cultural significance, Choquequirao is often compared to Machu Picchu.

Your adventure begins in Cusco and continues with an unforgettable trek through the spectacular Apurímac Canyon. Along the way, you will encounter breathtaking mountain scenery, diverse flora and fauna, and the natural beauty of one of the deepest canyons in the world.
