9:00 AM | Wujiang River Gallery & Observation Deck
Though we won’t enter the gallery, the Wujiang River Observation Deck offers jaw-dropping panoramas. Towering cliffs rise vertically from emerald waters, with boats drifting like tiny specks below. Tip: Capture sunrise reflections here for Instagram-worthy shots!
9:30 AM | Drive to Fairy Mountain National Forest Park
A 1.5-hour scenic drive brings us to Fairy Mountain (Xiannv Shan), a 10km² alpine plateau at 1,900m elevation. Lush pastures, pine forests, and wildflowers create a stark contrast to Chongqing’s urban hustle.
11:00 AM | Explore Fairy Mountain
Grassland Walks: Stroll the “Oriental Alps” meadows, where cows graze under scattered pines.
Sightseeing Road Train: Hop aboard a miniature train winding through cedar groves.
12:30 AM | Lunch Break
Enjoy a packed sandwich or upgrade to local dishes like spicy fish hotpot at nearby restaurants. (sandwich for free, others need to pay by yourself)
2:00 PM | Drive to Wulong Three Natural Bridges
After lunch, we head to Wulong’s Three Natural Bridges, a geological masterpiece formed over 12 million years. Three colossal stone arches—Tianlong, Qinglong, and Heilong Bridges—span a 400m-deep sinkhole, creating a cathedral-like space beneath.
2:30 PM | Visit Three Natural Bridges
Film Locations: Spot the “Tianfu Posthouse” (featured in Curse of the Golden Flower) and the sinkhole where Transformers 4’s robot battles took place.
Hiking Trails: Walk the 2km loop path with stairs and elevators for easy access.
Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for wild mandarin ducks.
5:00 PM | Tianfu Posthouse Cultural Stop
Step into the restored Tianfu Posthouse, a Tang Dynasty-era ancient relay station (驿站) that once served as a rest stop for officials and traders. Admire its wooden architecture and learn about China’s historic postal system.
5:30 PM | Return to Chongqing
Relax on the 2.5-hour drive back, watching the sunset paint Chongqing’s hills golden. We’ll drop you off at your hotel by 7:30 PM, leaving you with memories of karst wonders and alpine serenity.
