Jingangbei Hot Spring, Chongqing: A Hidden Hot Spring Paradise at the Foot of Jinyun Mountain
Tired of the hustle and bustle of downtown Chongqing? Escape the city noise and retreat to a hidden gem in Beibei District — the ancient Jingangbei Hot Spring Village. Nestled at No. 502 Beiquan Road, Beibei District, Chongqing, it lies at the foot of lush Jinyun Mountain and beside the gentle Jialing River. Boasting a forest coverage rate of over 90%, this natural wellness resort stays away from crowded tourist spots, offering an incredibly tranquil and soothing atmosphere.
Blending a 300-year-old valley village with natural hot springs, it shuns the over-commercialized vibe of popular hot spring resorts and retains the pure healing charm of the mountains. The spring water originates from natural veins of Beiquan Hot Spring. Clear and mild, it is a weakly alkaline sulfate mineral spring rich in rare radon elements. With a constant temperature of 35-37℃ all year round, the water is gentle on the skin, relaxing your body and soothing all fatigue after a soak.
Dozens of themed hot spring pools scatter across the resort, built along the mountains and streams. The cliff infinity pool offers panoramic views of forests and the river; the stream-side musical pools calm your mind with flowing water and night breezes; secluded private pools are hidden in the woods for an immersive nature experience. Soak in the springs amid green woods in the daytime to wash away impetuosity. At night, soft lights light up the ancient village, casting shimmering glimmers on bluestone paths and steaming pools. Mixed with the fresh scent of plants and starry skies, it creates an unparalleled romantic vibe.
After enjoying the hot springs, wander through the ancient village. Well-preserved Sichuan-style architectures dating back to the 1940s line the winding bluestone alleys. Centennial banyan trees, old courtyards and stone steps tell peaceful stories of time. No rushed schedules are needed — simply stroll, breathe fresh air and unwind, and embrace the slow-paced romance of Chongqing.
No long-distance travel is required. At Jingangbei Hot Spring, mountains, ancient village, river and hot springs blend perfectly. Admire green landscapes in the day and soak in warm mountain springs at night. This is the ultimate relaxing getaway in Chongqing, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful leisure time away from the busy world.
