Each season shows the park differently. From June to September, the monsoon rains bring dense vegetation and a lively jungle atmosphere. Rhinos move to higher ground as lower areas flood, tiger sightings get harder but their tracks show clearly in the wet soil, and the Rapti River runs high and fast for a quieter, more atmospheric canoe ride. From October to May, drier conditions open up better visibility for wildlife spotting, calmer river levels, and easier walking trails. Birdwatching stays strong throughout the year, with resident species joined by seasonal migrants at different times.
