Start your journey by heading northwest of Chiang Rai, about an hour's drive to Doi Tung. Your first stop is the stunning Mae Fah Luang Flower Garden and the Royal Villa at Doi Tung. As you drive through, enjoy the scenic beauty of the lush forest and mountainous landscapes that surround you. Upon arrival, explore the beautifully landscaped gardens and learn about the Royal Villa's historical significance.
Doi Chang Moob
Next, we travel to Doi Chang Moob, where you’ll be treated to a panoramic viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the borders between Thailand and Myanmar. From here, you can also spot a small village and a Myanmar military base nearby, providing a unique perspective of the area.
Pha Hee Village
Continue your journey to Pha Hee Village, known for its stunning views. Here, enjoy a delicious local Thai lunch at a restaurant offering picturesque scenery.
The Golden Triangle
After lunch, we drive for about 30 minutes to reach the legendary Golden Triangle, the meeting point of three countries: Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. From a great viewpoint, your guide will explain the fascinating history and significance of the region, including its role in the opium trade in the past.
Opium Museum
Conclude your day with a visit to the Opium Museum, where you'll gain valuable insights into the history of opium trade in the region. Explore exhibits on the opium production process, tools, and equipment used in the past. On the second floor, learn about the hill tribes and their connection to the opium trade.
Return to Chiang Rai
After the museum visit, we’ll drive for about an hour back to your hotel in Chiang Rai.
