What you can expect

Join a thoughtfully guided walking tour led by a former monk to explore some of the most historically significant temples located just outside Chiang Mai’s Old City.
We begin our journey at Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, established in 1296. Revered as the city’s first temple, it holds great historical and cultural importance, offering insight into the origins of Lanna architecture and spiritual life.
Next, we visit Wat Pa Pao, the first temple of the Ngiaw (Tai Yai) community in Chiang Mai. Constructed in 1883 during the reign of King Inthawichayanon by Lady Bua Lhai, a Tai Yai royal concubine, this temple reflects the rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions of the Tai Yai people.
We then continue to Wat Chiang Yuen, renowned for its ancient Burmese-style colonial gate and intricately designed pavilion. The temple played a pivotal role in the Lanna Kingdom, as every new king was required to pay homage to the sacred Phra Suppunyu Chao Buddha image housed within.
Our final stop is Wat Lok Molee (also known as Wat Lok Moli), one of the city's oldest and most architecturally impressive temples. It is home to one of the largest and most striking chedis in Chiang Mai, offering visitors a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Lanna craftsmanship.
This tour is designed with sustainability in mind. As a low-impact experience, it supports responsible travel practices by prioritizing carbon offsetting and minimizing your environmental footprint.
