Go for an exceptional day in the Chiang Dao mountains, a non-touristy region north of Chiang Mai. Make a stop at the very famous Chiang Dao Caves, which offer a fascinating network of limestone caverns, housing spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, with a Buddhist shrine integrated into their underground tangle.
Depart from your hotel at 7:30 AM and head to Chiang Dao, where you will stop at a local market to buy lunch. Then, go to a local village to start your trekking. The hike into the heart of the jungle will extend for 6 km, which will take approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.
During this adventure, cross the river 21 times, offering magnificent landscapes with dense jungle, coffee trees, and 500-year-old trees. Stop for lunch en route or upon your return. After the hike, visit the Chiang Dao Caves, allowing approximately 1 hour to explore these fascinating natural formations.
Then, take time to relax at the hot springs for 1 hour, with the possibility of taking an outdoor bath. On the way back, make a stop to visit the magnificent temple of Wat Ban Den, renowned for its dazzling blue colors.
