Savigny-lès-Beaune Castle, built in 1340 and renovated in the 17th century, is listed as a historic monument. This former fortress is now home to unusual collections.
On the grounds of the château, you will discover around one hundred fighter planes and helicopters. Inside the chateau and its outbuildings, 30 Abarth racing car prototypes and over 200 motorcycle models from 1903 to 1960 are on display, including those belonging to Jean Mermoz and Canon Kir. Also worth seeing: a fire brigade museum, a museum of wine-making equipment and tools, a museum of high-clearance tractors, and over 8,000 model kits.
On the property, the Petit Château (1671) houses the tasting cellar and the dining room (available by reservation for groups of 20 people or more).
Since 1979, Michel Pont, a passionate collector and owner of Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, has opened his museums to the public every day to share his passions. His son, Christophe Pont, manages the château's winery, known as “Les Caves de l'Orangerie,” and invites you to discover some of Burgundy's prestigious wine appellations.
