Experience the living tradition of South Bohemian brewing in a place where beer has been crafted since the 16th century. Set within the newly renovated Port 1560 complex, the historic brewery showcases the legacy of the renowned Schwarzenberg Brewery, combining centuries-old craftsmanship with contemporary innovation.
Your visit begins in the Neo-Gothic Varna – once the beating heart of the brewery and today a striking architectural and technological landmark. Here, you will explore the historic brewhouse, discover traditional brewing methods, and gain insight into how South Bohemian beer was once brought to life. You'll also take a look in the attic space where malt used to be crushed to prepare it for brewing.
Also located within the Port 1560 complex is the contemporary Krumlov Brewery, continuing the local brewing tradition today. While it is not part of the self-guided tour, it offers a unique opportunity to experience present-day beer production alongside its rich historical context.
Beyond the brewery itself, Port 1560 offers a rich cultural experience set against a backdrop of remarkable historic architecture. The complex hosts art exhibitions, workshops, and presentations on local history and building traditions. Depending on the season, you may also enjoy a concert in the Brewery Garden or take part in a creative workshop.
