Bird Island is the only remaining undeveloped barrier island system in Brunswick County and is one of the few protected natural island areas in the mid-Atlantic region. Governor's Lighthouse (Pass by)
Pass by the beautiful governors lighthouse, the only lighthouse in Horry county. A local landmark, located in the small fishing village of Little River, SC the governors lighthouse was commissioned in 1984. It was built to honor all South Carolina governors past and present. The lighthouse is a facsimile lighthouse, meaning it cannot be used a navigation aid.
