What you can expect

  • Join us to discover unique half-timbered houses that have long since disappeared, medieval market squares, and an ancient battlement that is still preserved and hidden away. We will follow in the footsteps of wealthy patrician families and hard-working bone carvers. We will learn where Braunschweig's executioner lived and what connection he had to the “oldest profession” in the world. Our walking tour begins at the historic Bäckerklint. You will then learn what the Flohwinkel is all about.

Passing by the venerable Martino-Katharineum Grammar School with its famous pupils, you will continue via the medieval Altstadtmarkt and the historic Eiermarkt to the Jakob-Kemenate. From there, it is not far to Knochenhauerstraße.

After a short stop, we continue to the picturesque Michaelisviertel, which has its own fascinating stories to tell. The tour ends at the medieval battlement, which tells its own story in a very concealed way.
