Visit one of Amsterdam's most famous butcher shops , located in the Jordaan since 1892 and owned by the Louman family for six generations. In this store you will get the real Jordaan feeling while tasting the best 'ossenworst'. This is a smoked raw beef sausage with oriental spices that was already made in the early 17th century by the Amsterdam kitchen maids as a luxury delicacy for the rich Amsterdam merchants. And that's not all because we will also let you taste a typical Dutch ham, pork sausage and salted beef.

In this former headquarters of the Dutch West India Company, the colony of New Amsterdam was governed that once began with the building of Fort Amsterdam on the island of Manhattan. Brooklyn, Wallstreet, Staten Island and many more places still refer directly to Dutch history in New York. We are happy to tell you all about it while enjoying the famous 'bitterballen' and a tasty drink such as a local Amsterdam beer or 'jenever', the predecessor of English gin.

Owner René and his team buy, mature and refine over 300 different cheeses and sell them to numerous top restaurants at home and abroad from their “cheese fortress” an early 20th century bunker outside Amsterdam. All of these cheeses are purely artisanal and come from small local producers. Taste four different Dutch cheeses (decent pieces, no mouse bites) including, of course, the Gouda cheese with a delicious wine and crackers.
