What you can expect
Private Boulders beach penguins and Wine tasting full-day tour - This small-group adventure is a hassle-free alternative to hiring a car and planning your own Cape Town adventure. The trip begins with hotel pickup, and you can enjoy the views as someone else takes care of the driving. Stops on the tour include the colourful district of Bo-Kaap, Table Mountain, Simon’s Town—the home of a protected African penguin colony, and the Cape of Good Hope. Tick off Bo-Kaap, the Cape of Good Hope, and Camp Bay in a day Ride comfortably between sites in a luxury vehicle Do trip research as you travel—thanks to onboard Wi-Fi See a world-renowned natural wonder.
As we enter Boulders Beach, there is a small African craft market where you can buy yourself handcrafted penguins and other crafts, our tour guide will then accompany you to a protected African penguin colony to take pictures and mingle with the penguins, there is also a semi-private beach for swimming (optional) and restaurants’ around for refreshments and lunch. Your tour guide will escort you to the main penguin's colony. More than 2500 African penguins have made this bay their permanent home. This is not a zoo, these penguins roam freely. only the area is protected. Your tour guide will share more information about these beautiful creatures which can only be found in South Africa and Namibia.
We begin our Simon van der Stel wine tour with Buitenverwachting (meaning Beyond expectation) wine estate. This too had formed part of the original Constantia farm which was founded by Simon van der Stel. Even though it changed ownership, they retraced the roots of the estate and restored the historical buildings on the farm. The farm produces 8 % Red, 90% White and 2 % Rose cultivars.
We then proceed to the historical Groot (meaning Big) Constantia wine estate. Groot Constantia is the oldest wine-producing farm in South Africa since 1685 and even after the farm had changed ownership, it still maintains the production of high quality, award-winning wine. The farm produces 70% Red and 30% White cultivars. We can recommend a beautiful lunch either at Simon’s Restaurant or at Jonkershuis Restaurant, both set on this exquisite wine estate.
