About the Mangrove River

The Bongawan River is a natural mangrove ecosystem, not a clear-water or mountain river. Mangroves are rich in biodiversity and are home to iconic wildlife such as Proboscis monkeys, Long-tailed macaques, kingfishers, monitor lizards, mudskippers, and countless other species. The beauty of this experience lies in observing wildlife within one of Sabah's most important natural habitats.

Proboscis monkeys and other wildlife are wild animals living in their natural habitat. Sightings cannot be guaranteed and depend on factors such as weather, tides, timing, and the animals' natural movements. Viewing distance and visibility may vary, as we always prioritize observing wildlife responsibly without disturbing them.

As this is a genuine wildlife experience, we kindly ask for your understanding that animal sightings are beyond anyone's control. We respectfully request that reviews reflect the quality of the tour and service rather than wildlife appearances.
