What you can expect
A 2-hour, wheelchair- and stroller-accessible Bonaire tour designed for cruise passengers with limited port time, mobility needs, or young children. Where most island tours run 3+ hours and exclude wheelchair users, this one welcomes one folding wheelchair per vehicle and gets you back to the pier on schedule.
Your certified native Bonairean guide picks you up at the South Pier and heads down the island's southern coast in an air-conditioned bus. First stop: the salt production area, where Cargill's solar salt facility produces over 400,000 tons annually and turns the ponds vivid pink against the Caribbean blue. Take photos at the white 19th-century slave huts — small stone shelters where enslaved workers once gathered after harvesting salt — a sobering, beautifully preserved historic landmark.
Continue south to Sorobon Beach, tucked inside Lac Bay's mangroves. The entire island of Bonaire is a protected marine park, and Sorobon's seagrass pastures attract sea turtles that glide slowly past swimmers in shallow, knee-deep water that stretches out for what feels like forever. Your guide will share the area's marine-park history while you take photos or step in for a quick dip.
Past guests consistently praise the local storytelling above everything else. Dutch and German available on request at booking. Runs daily, including Sundays. Departures at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
