Once you arrive at the winery, you'll be welcomed with a cup of coffee in the winter months or Medio y Medio (a traditional Uruguayan drink) in the summer months in the park.
Then, the oenologist will tell you the story of the family business from its beginnings and how it evolved over time. You'll visit the Tannat vineyard, an emblematic variety of Uruguay, and continue touring the winery's facilities. You'll see the production plant and its machinery and enter an original tank from 1930. Then, we'll go to the cellar where we have the largest number of barrels on display in Uruguay, dating from 1940, the barrel cellar where we make our Anticuario Sherry and where our Reserva and Gran Reserva wines evolve, and the cellar where our natural sparkling wine Fond de Cave rests, the largest active underground cellar on the continent. You'll also get a master class on disgorging sparkling wine with the machinery we use in the process.
Finally, you'll pass through the museum of the old San Javier winery from 1820, where we have wines from 1967, 1978…
The tasting and lunch will be held in the winery's underground cellar.
