What you can expect
Escape the typical tourist routes and discover the real Okinawa through its famous Blue Zone lifestyle, stunning coastal scenery, and authentic local culture.
Your journey begins with pickup in southern or central Okinawa before heading north along the island's beautiful coastline. Along the way, your local guide, born and raised in Okinawa, will introduce the history, culture, and traditions that make Okinawa unique.
The first stop is Cape Manzamo, one of Okinawa's most spectacular viewpoints. Enjoy panoramic views of the East China Sea and learn how the ocean has shaped the lives of Okinawan people for generations.
Next, visit a local farmers market where residents shop for fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, seafood, and traditional Okinawan foods. Discover the ingredients that have contributed to Okinawa's reputation as one of the world's most famous Blue Zones, where people are known for living long and healthy lives.
Continue to a hidden beach away from the crowds. Take a relaxing walk along the shoreline, enjoy the crystal-clear waters, and experience the peaceful atmosphere that makes Okinawa so special.
After lunch at a local restaurant, cross the breathtaking Kouri Bridge, one of the most scenic drives in Japan. Enjoy incredible ocean views and hear local legends connected to Kouri Island, often called Okinawa's island of beginnings.
The tour then continues to Ogimi Village, known internationally as the Village of Longevity. Learn about the traditions, community connections, and daily habits that have helped many residents live long and active lives. Explore the village and gain a deeper understanding of Okinawa's unique approach to health and happiness.
As you travel through northern Okinawa, you'll also pass traditional villages with red-tiled roofs, stone walls, vegetable gardens, and family ancestral tombs, offering a glimpse into authentic island life rarely seen by most visitors.
Guests who wish may also choose to include a visit to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, home to whale sharks, manta rays, and one of the world's largest aquarium tanks. Please note that adding the aquarium may reduce time spent at some cultural locations.
Throughout the day, your guide will share insights into Okinawan culture, food, history, and the secrets behind the island's world-famous longevity. More than a sightseeing tour, this experience offers a deeper connection to Okinawa's people, nature, and way of life.
