Embark on a guided day adventure to one of the South Island's most picturesque and accessible gems - the Blue Pools. Nestled amid ancient beech forest and crossed by a dramatic swing bridge, this short but unforgettable hike offers refreshing alpine views and the chance to peer into brilliantly clear glacial waters.

Arrive at our Wānaka base at 8:00am to meet your guide and go over the plan for the day. Pickup from your Wānaka accommodation can also be arranged.

From here, enjoy a scenic 1 hour drive through the stunning Haast Pass to the Blue Pools trailhead. Your guide will lead you on an beautiful forest walk, crossing swing bridges and pausing to admire the crystal-clear waters below.
The guide will then take you beyond the public viewing point of the Blue Pools and continue our hike down the beautiful Makarora River through ancient forest into a peaceful valley. Along the way, learn about the area’s unique ecology and history.

Take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch in a quiet alpine setting before returning along the track.
Most trips arrive back in Wanaka by late afternoon, around 4:00pm or 5:00pm.
