Embark on a 2.5-hour immersive journey that brings to life the cultural essence of China's greatest literary classic, “Dream of the Red Chamber” (also known as The Story of the Stone), a masterpiece recognized by UNESCO's Memory of the World Register for its profound depiction of 18th-century Chinese society and aesthetics. Your evening begins in a meticulously recreated Qing Dynasty-style hall, where you will be greeted and offered a selection of authentic period attire for men and women, followed by professional hair and makeup styling to fully embody a character from the novel's grand Jia family mansion.

As you settle into the lavishly decorated banquet setting, a multi-course feast inspired by imperial and aristocratic cuisine described in the novel will be served. Each dish is not only a culinary delight but also a story, reflecting the sophistication and symbolism deeply rooted in Chinese gastronomic culture. Throughout the dinner, a curated series of live performances unfolds on a dedicated stage. Witness the powerful vocals and elaborate movements of Peking Opera (a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage), the elegant storytelling through classical Chinese dance, and selected scenes from Kunqu Opera (another UNESCO-listed heritage) that echo the romantic and dramatic tales of the novel’s characters.

Between performances, interact with the artists during brief cultural introductions and capture your transformed elegance with our in-house photography service against stunning historical backdrops. This experience is more than a meal or a show; it is a holistic dive into the arts, literature, and lifestyle of China's imperial peak, designed to leave you with deep memories and stunning visual mementos. The event is held at a designated cultural venue with sessions available on selected evenings; please check the calendar for specific dates and times.
