We meet at 9:00 AM in front of the Grand Preanger Hotel on Asia Afrika Street, right in the city’s historic core.
This is a relaxed 2–3 hour walking tour (about 2 km). No rushing, no scripts. just slow walking, good conversations, and great coffee while learning how Bandung became what it is today.
Route highlights:
Start at the Art Deco Grand Preanger Hotel, pass Savoy Homann, and visit Gedung Merdeka, site of the 1955 Asian-African Conference. We stop for traditional kopi tubruk at Warung Kopi Purnama, then wander through Jalan ABC, Banceuy, and kampung alleyways near the Cikapundung River.
At Kopi Aroma, you’ll learn about Indonesian coffee, and take home a small bag of beans. We continue along Braga Street, once called the “Paris of Java,” and finish at Sumber Hidangan (Het Snoephuis) with their famous ice cream.
