The experience begins with a meeting with Alain, the winemaker at Domaine Ray-Jane, a family estate founded in 1288 in the heart of the Bandol appellation. You will learn about the history of the estate and the unique characteristics of this Provençal terroir, nestled between the sea and the hills. The tour continues with a visit to the cellar and the aging room, where Alain will explain the stages of winemaking and the aging of Bandol wines, as well as the role of the appellation’s emblematic grape variety: Mourvèdre. You will also explore the estate’s museum, one of the largest ecomuseums in Europe dedicated to vines and wine, which houses over 30,000 historic tools and objects related to vineyard work and the history of wine. The experience concludes with a convivial tasting of several of the vineyard’s wines.
