Making hand-pulled noodles sounds like something only restaurant chefs and extremely confident grandmas can do, but this 4-course cooking class in Baltimore makes the process fun, hands-on and surprisingly approachable. Led by Chef Ten, this Asian noodle-making experience teaches you the techniques behind fresh, restaurant-quality noodles, along with a full menu of bold, comforting dishes.
You’ll start by learning how to stretch, pull and shape fresh noodles by hand before turning them into chilled noodles with butter-poached shrimp, homemade yuzu ponzu, garlic butter and poached shrimp. Then, build a rich spicy miso pit beef noodle soup with hand-pulled flat noodles, smoked pit beef, spicy miso broth, soft-boiled miso eggs, nori, scallions and homemade chili oil.
You’ll also prepare vegetable potstickers filled with cabbage and shiitake mushrooms, served with citrus-soy sauce for the perfect savory bite. To finish, enjoy almond tofu with fresh berries, matcha green tea apple salad and blueberry compote.
Perfect for date night, food lovers, groups or anyone who has ever watched noodles being pulled and thought, “I need to try that,” this class is a fun way to learn new skills, eat very well and leave with techniques you can recreate at home.
