This is a culinary tour that makes us proud because every dish and beverage you'll be tasting is 100% grown, created and cooked especially for us. For starters, the original “margarita” figures as the classic welcome toast at an iconic site where it is said that Al Capone and the gang drank and enjoyed their freedom.
After walking a few blocks, we'll hop on a bus for just a minute and arrive at the first company along the Pacific Coast that actually bottled and sold wine. Their olive oil is also legendary, so we'll try them both. Lunch is two more blocks away, at a charming restaurant with one of the most creative kitchens in the region.
The experience has two more stops: a second wine tasting at a beautiful winery with a wide assortment of most of the regional production and, finally, a last stop at Hussongs Cantina, supposedly the oldest in all of the Californias, featuring live mariachi or “norteña” bands where we will enjoy a farewell crafted beer.
The cruise port is located only 8 blocks away, strolling about the touristy Primera Street.
