Embark on an exciting adventure to the Abismo de Puncupata, a mysterious and spectacular destination located an hour and a half from Huamanga, in Ayacucho. The trip starts early in the Plaza de Armas of Ayacucho, where we meet at 8:50 am in front of the imposing Cathedral, ready to discover this natural wonder.

At 9:00 h, we depart punctually in comfortable vehicles, driving for approximately two hours on an asphalt road surrounded by the impressive landscapes of the highlands of Ayacucho. During the journey, you will be able to enjoy the native flora and fauna, with special attention to the vicuñas in the last stretches towards the abyss.

Arriving at the Puncupata Abyss at around 11:00 am, you will be greeted by a breathtaking landscape: a cliff that rises 4,200 metres above sea level. This impressive site offers not only spectacular views, but also a natural lookout point from which you can admire nearby villages such as Ccaccamarca and Chumbes, as well as a rich variety of birds and endemic plants.

To facilitate exploration, the local community has provided a safe footpath that will take you to the most impressive edges of the abyss. It is important to mention that, due to the nature of the terrain, this place is not recommended for those who suffer from acrophobia, but for everyone else, it will be a unique experience of connecting with the wildest and most majestic nature.

During your visit, an expert guide will provide you with information about the geology of the site, its flora and fauna, as well as relevant historical and cultural aspects. The tour includes entrance to the site and a first aid kit to ensure your safety at all times.

After spending approximately two hours exploring the Puncupata Abyss, we will depart back to the city at 13:30 h, with an expected arrival in Ayacucho at 15:00 h, where we will finish this unforgettable experience.

We recommend that you bring warm clothes due to the altitude, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses to protect you from the intense sun at this altitude. It is also important to have comfortable walking shoes, and if you want to capture memories, don't forget your camera to immortalize this unique journey.
