Welcome to our Burabay National Park adventure with Astana Horizons.
Our program already includes lunch and your main activity, so many guests don’t spend a single extra dollar during the day. From morning pickup to evening drop-off, you’ll be accompanied by an English-speaking guide and private transportation, ensuring a comfortable and seamless experience from start to finish.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive into one of Kazakhstan’s most beautiful natural regions, often called the “Kazakh Switzerland.” Upon arrival, we’ll head to Bolektau Mountain, where a short and easy hike rewards you with spectacular panoramic views of Burabay’s lakes, pine forests, and granite rock formations.
We’ll then visit the historic Abylai Khan Meadow, one of the park’s most important cultural sites. Here you’ll learn about the legacy of the famous Kazakh ruler Abylai Khan while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding pine forests. You will also encounter eagle handlers, traditional performers, and other cultural attractions. Along the way, we’ll stop at several lesser-known hidden spots that many visitors miss.
A traditional Kazakh lunch will be served on a quiet terrace surrounded by nature. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
In the afternoon, you can choose between a relaxing boat ride across the lake, offering beautiful views of Blue Bay, Zhumbaktas Rock, and the surrounding landscape, or a horseback ride through peaceful forest trails away from the crowds. Guests who wish to experience both activities may do so for an additional fee.
The tour can also be adjusted to include a visit to the Botai open-air museum upon request, a fascinating reconstruction of one of the world’s earliest horse-riding cultures, offering insight into the ancient civilizations that once inhabited the Kazakh steppe.
Combining nature, culture, history, and outdoor adventure, this full-day experience offers the perfect introduction to Burabay National Park and some of the most beautiful scenery in Kazakhstan.
