What you can expect

Leave the ancient city of Bukhara behind for an unforgettable journey across the Silk Road’s most diverse landscapes. Your adventure begins at a legendary Gijduvan Ceramic Workshop, where you’ll meet sixth-generation masters and watch as raw earth is transformed into intricate art. From there, explore the military genius of Alexander the Great at the Nur Fortress and witness the thousands of “holy” fish at the Chashma Spring before heading deep into the Kyzylkum Desert. As evening falls, trade your vehicle for a camel ride across the dunes, enjoy a dinner of nomadic flavors by a crackling campfire, and sleep in a traditional Yurt under one of the clearest starlit skies in Central Asia.

On the second day, your path leads into the emerald Nuratau Mountains to the remote Asraf Village. Here, the pace of life slows instantly. You’ll be welcomed into a traditional mountain guesthouse for lunch. In the afternoon, setting off on a guided trek through the ridges of Jizzakh, exploring hidden ruins and lush valleys. As the sun begins to set, the “Lifestyle” experience continues with an interactive cooking class, learning to fire up a clay “non” oven for golden bread and preparing a traditional Plov over an open flame with a local family.

The final day is dedicated to experience a truly special moment: a visit to the local village school (subject to availability and prior arrangement), offering a unique glimpse into the lives of the youngest residents and their aspirations. After a final village lunch, your journey continues towards to the shimmering blue waters of Aydarkul Lake, a massive desert oasis perfect for a scenic break and a refreshing swim. During the harvest season (typically September-October), we will stop at a local cotton plantation, offering a fascinating insight into the region's agricultural heritage and the harvest process. You will then arrive in Samarkand in the late afternoon, having experienced the true lifestyle of the desert nomad, the mountain villager, the master artisan, and the hardworking farmer.
