Through stories and interesting facts, you will get to know the historic districts of Rione Monti and Aia Piccola, admiring the trulli, the techniques used to build them, the mysterious symbols painted on their roofs, and the ancient traditions that still shape life in the town today.

As you stroll through the historic districts of Rione Monti and Aia Piccola, you will be able to see iconic landmarks such as the Trullo Sovrano and the Chiesa di Sant’Antonio. You will have ample and well-balanced time for your visit: you can explore the town at your leisure, visit artisan workshops, have lunch, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Matera

The tour continues to Matera, one of the oldest cities in the world, famous for its Sassi, ancient cave dwellings carved into the rock. During your visit, you will be able to enter some of the Rupestrian churches, such as the Church of Santa Maria de Idris, and you will have the opportunity to visit a house-museum (optional entry, additional €2.50) to learn about how people lived in the Sassi until the 1950s.
