What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with an optional pickup from Al Hamra. Meet your experienced guide and get ready for a challenging hike to the summit of Jebel Shams.

    Ascend from an altitude of 1,900 meters to 3,000 meters, gaining 1,500 meters in elevation. The total distance is around 24 kilometers, with the last 3 kilometers being wavy and gaining elevation. The trail is on a mountain surface and hard rock.

    Enjoy amazing views over the Grand Canyon and take great pictures on the hanging rock. The hike is long (around 10-12 hours), so a good fitness level is required.

    Stay energized with snacks, fruit, and Omani coffee provided by your guide.
