Dating back to the 2nd century BCE, the Ajanta Caves are a collection of 30 Buddhist rock-cut caves adorned with intricate murals and sculptures depicting the life of Buddha and Jataka tales. The caves, hidden in a horseshoe-shaped gorge, provide a mesmerizing insight into India's rich artistic heritage.

A grand testament to India's religious harmony, the Ellora Caves (6th–10th century CE) feature 34 rock-cut temples dedicated to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. The crown jewel is the Kailasa Temple, a breathtaking monolithic structure carved from a single rock, representing Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva.

Choose a day trip or 2 day trip from Mumbai or Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar ( Aurangabad ) by Flight or Road to visit both Ajanta and Ellora Caves.
