What you can expect

Bomas, Kenya Your journey will begin with pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or accommodation at 1pm. Here you will experience the rich culture of Kenya's 42 different ethnic groups living their daily lives. Traditional dances, music, songs and folklore clearly attest to this. There is a gorgeous arena where acrobatic performances can be performed. Bomas in Kenya showcases performances by traditional dancers and is spread over acres of land, as well as wonderful mud huts and traditional Kenyan homes. Bomas in Kenya are the perfect place to bring energetic children as they can freely wander in and out of traditional houses and mud huts, climb ladders and generally have a wonderful active time. These traditional houses are concentrated in different regions. The houses are divided into first wife's cabin, second wife's cabin, barns, etc. and you can see where the livestock were kept and the huge differences between the cabins. The Kenya Bomas Organization was launched in 1971 after Kenya's independence (1964) and is managed by the Kenyan government to promote Kenya's rich cultural heritage. In addition to the main attractions (dancers and traditional farmsteads), there is a large wooden play area for toddlers, a low-key village of craft shops and other attractions.
