What you can expect
A few kilometers from Porto-Novo, the town of Adjarra is a must-see for ecotourism in the region. The Rivière Noire is open to visitors through lush and wild nature far off the beaten track. A trip along the water that will not leave lovers of fauna and flora unmoved, as the diversity of the ecosystem is impressive.
In the surrounding villages, the transformation of palm wine into sodabi, the local alcohol, will arouse your curiosity. Or the work of craftsmen who, from sections of tree trunks, make tam-tams that are renowned throughout Benin. Not to mention the food tasting of grilled pork, another Adjarra specialty.
