What you can expect
Day 1: Addis Ababa
Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Merkato, the biggest open market in Africa. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 2: Addis Ababa to Goba
Drive to Goba via Assela, admiring the beautiful countryside along the way. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3: Goba
In the morning, drive to Dinsho, the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park, and go on a 2-hour hike to see the wildlife. After lunch, drive to Mount Tulu Dimtu (4377 m.a.s.l) and try to spot the endemic Abyssinian Wolf. Spend the night in a hotel in Goba.
Day 4: Goba to Hawassa
Drive to Hawassa via Wondogenet, with a possible stop at the natural hot springs. Enjoy an optional walk around Lake Hawassa. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 5: Hawassa to Arba Minch
Drive to Arba Minch, visiting the Dorze people’s village of Hayzo along the way. Learn about their culture, known for weaving traditional cotton dresses. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 6: Arba Minch to Turmi
Take a boat on Lake Chamo to see giant crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and aquatic birds. Then, drive to Turmi via Karat, visiting the Konso people and learning about their terracing system. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 7: Turmi
In the morning, drive to Omorate and visit the Dassanech tribe after crossing the Omo River by a locally made canoe. Return to Turmi and visit the Hamer tribe in the late afternoon. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 8: Turmi to Jinka
Drive to Jinka, visiting the Banna tribe at Keyafer along the way. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 9: Jinka
Drive to the village of Olikore, passing through Mago National Park, to visit the Mursi tribe, known for the large clay plates worn by the women. Return to Jinka for lunch, then visit the Ari tribe in the mid-afternoon. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 10: Jinka to Addis Ababa
In the morning, visit the South Omo Cultural Museum, then transfer to the airport for a flight to Addis Ababa. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant to mark the end of the tour.
