What you can expect

Departing from Osaka, in just one day you will delve into the hidden charm of Nara and the cherry blossom sanctuary of Mount Yoshino, experiencing the full spring narrative—from city to countryside, from culture to nature.

In the morning, dance with the sacred deer beneath the cherry blossoms at Nara Park. Here, spring gently unfolds with around 1,700 cherry trees of varied types—Nara Yaezakura, Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Shidarezakura—intertwining into a dreamlike tunnel of pink and white. As one of Japan's “Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots”, it is also the perfect place to photograph Nara's iconic sacred deer. These adorable fawns, regarded as divine messengers, roam freely under the blooming trees. You can feed them special deer crackers and capture fleeting moments as they mingle with falling petals.

Stroll through Kasuga Taisha and walk along corridors of faith lined with lanterns that have witnessed a thousand years. A UNESCO World Heritage site with over 1,300 years of history, Kasuga Taisha is renowned for its 3,000 stone and hanging lanterns. The crimson corridors and moss-covered ancient lanterns outline a tranquil, solemn passage through time. In cherry blossom season, lanterns and flowering branches reflect each other, as if stepping into a living classical scroll. (Entry to the main shrine area is free; a separate fee applies for special worship in front of the inner hall.)

Visit Tōdai-ji and behold the world's largest wooden Buddha hall. Tōdai-ji is not only a symbol of Nara but also a treasure of Japanese Buddhist culture. Enshrined inside is the Great Buddha of Nara (Rushana Buddha)—a figure of serene compassion—while the grand wooden hall itself is an awe-inspiring architectural masterpiece. Adorned with cherry blossoms, the solemnity of the ancient temple harmonizes beautifully with the gentle elegance of spring. (Admission fee is required.)

In the afternoon, we journey to the sacred realm of cherry blossoms—Mount Yoshino. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is famed for its 30,000 white mountain cherry trees. The blossoms bloom successively from the foothills to the summit, creating a magnificent tiered landscape known as “Shimo-senbon”, “Naka-senbon”, “Kami-senbon”, and “Oku-senbon”—often called “a view of a thousand trees at a glance”.

In the evening, we return contentedly, carrying memories of cherry blossoms back to the city's bustle. We plan to conclude around 18:10 near Kintetsu Nippombashi. If you wish to extend the day, you can wander through Shinsaibashi Shopping Street or explore Dotonbori, savoring a warm local snack to satisfyingly conclude this perfect day.We look forward to meeting you on this unforgettable journey!
