Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your guide will warmly welcome you before beginning the scenic drive to Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. Along the way, stop at the historic Iron Bridge built by the legendary Tibetan engineer Thangthong Gyalpo, one of Bhutan's oldest suspension bridges. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel and take some time to freshen up. In the evening, visit the magnificent Tashichho Dzong, which opens to visitors from 5:30 PM. This impressive fortress-monastery serves as the seat of Bhutan's government and the summer residence of the Chief Abbot. After the visit, the remainder of the evening is at your leisure.
