On the way to Khinalig, we will be passing near the Beshbarmag State Historical-Cultural and Natural Reserve. While having a nice coffee or tea you will get more information on this misterious place.

Guba-Khachmaz Region

Arriving at the Guba district we will have a walk through the local Bazaar. After having a short walk in the main parts of the city we will have a dinner.

Day 2: Sohub - Budug hiking

Accommodation: Warm stay for overnight in a local village house

Sohub – Budug hike | 7.8km, +650m, -520m | ~5:00h Morning – Breakfast in Hotel. 10:00 – Hotel check-out. Drive to the village Sohub (4x4 UAZ/Lada Niva). Approx. 2 hours with short breaks. Outdoor lunch (shepherd style) after climbing the first hill (Sohub Fortress). *We will be crossing river by walk (about 30-50sm deep, 4-7m wide). After reaching the Budug village we will be having rest time, possible to take a shower (no running water, using bucket and oven-heated hot water). Dinner and overnight at Budug village.

Day 3: Budug - Zeyid - Grizdahna hiking

Accommodation: Warm stay for overnight in a local house

Budug – Zeyid – Grizdahna hike | 18.4km, +740m, -1250m | ~9:00h Morning – Breakfast in local house. 09:00 – Hiking start. After 4.5km will stop for a tea break in Zeyid village. On the half way will be having outdoor lunch in a gazebo. After reaching the village Grizdahna we will check-in for the overnight in a private house with access to hot running water. Dinner and breakfast will be served in a local cafe/restaurant.

Budug – Zeyid – Grizdahna hike | 18.4km, +740m, -1250m | ~9:00h Morning – Breakfast in local house. 09:00 – Hiking start. After 4.5km will stop for a tea break in Zeyid village. On the half way will be having outdoor lunch in a gazebo. After reaching the village Grizdahna we will check-in for the overnight in a private villa with possibility to have hot running water. Dinner and breakfast will be served in a local cafe/restaurant.

Day 4: Grizdahna - Griz hiking

Accommodation: Warm stay for overnight in a local guest house

Grizdahna – Griz hike | 8km, +840m, -130m | ~6:00h Morning – breakfast in a local cafe/restaurant. 10:30 – Hiking start. First 3km of the hike will be steep uphill. Later the trail gives it back with nice views. Outdoor lunch will be on the trail. Due to expected early arrival to the village optionally we can walk around and in the village in searching for a nice shots. Dinner will be served at home in one of the ancient villages – Griz. Overnight will be also in a local house/guesthouse.

Day 5: Griz - Galaykhudat - Khinalig hiking

Nestled high in the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains, Khinalig is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. This ancient village, perched at an altitude of 2,335 meters, offers a unique and captivating experience for adventurous travelers.

Kalaykhudat

Griz – Galaykhudat - Khinalig hike | 17.4km, +830m, -690m | ~9:00h Morning – Breakfast in local house. 09:00 – Hiking start. After 9km will stop for a hearty lunch and tea in the Galaykhudat village. Later the route is mostly flat (old 4x4 track) with a good views. Overnight and dinner will be in the highest ancient village of Azerbaijan – Khinalig village. After reaching the village we will have a short walk in the Khinalig’s streets and local museum. We will be staying in a local house/guesthouse.

Day 6: Departure from Khinalig to Baku
