Description

Experience the ultimate mix of adventures in the Arabian Desert on a 4x4 desert safari . Motor over the trackless sands tackling the rolling dunes in a 4-WD, and then enjoy a sumptuous Arabic BBQ dinner complete with music and dance.

Set off on an exhilarating off-road adventure through the beautiful expanse of the Arabian Desert as a professional driver leads you over the sands in a Jeep. Head to a fantastic lookout point to take in the full glory of the desert as the sun sinks down, and then make your way to a traditional desert camp, where a variety of entertaining activities await.

Back at the camp, go for a ride on a gentle camel, have a henna design painted on your skin, smoke aromatic shisha from a water pipe, and snap your picture in traditional Arabic dress.

As you enjoy the spirit of Middle Eastern hospitality, take a seat for a delectable, 3-course feast of Emirati specialties prepared before your eyes, including savory grilled meats, fresh salads, and local sweets. A swaying bellydancer sets the festive ambiance, and the soft notes of Arabian folk music fill the air as you relax beneath the stars.

The guide was great. Need to understand the scope: 1. You ride over the dunes in a Toyota SUV as part of a group of 3/4 SUVs. Fun but not exactly dune buggying. Each tour group has an assigned area (there are quite a few around UAE). There are a lot of different groups assigned to each “conversation” area. 2. There is a chance to ride an ATV in a circle. 3. The camel ride is a photo opp - fun but very limited riding. Mostly just on, up, 5-6 steps, down, off. 4. The barbecue is in a big area and hosts whatever groups are scheduled for that day. It may include several hundred people. 5. Around the barbecue area are a number of tents. Some have different activities like henna hand painting and others are selling souvenirs. There are many photo opportunities - holding a falcon or wearing traditional clothes. 6. The meal was good. Enough variety to suit everyone’s palate and fast lines. Our tour guide left us on our own once we were in the camp and he explained our options.
